Mayor Ed Evans Opens Recycling Center in West Mansfield, Ohio

The Logan County Solid Waste Management District continues to expand its recycling network of full time recycling centers with the addition of a full time facility in West Mansfield.  The Logan County Commissioners, other county elected officials, and approximately 100 West Mansfield residents joined Mayor Ed Evans for the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting ceremony marking the occasion on August 3rd, 2010.  The opening of this recycling center, the twelfth in the county, was made possible after the signing of a long term lease of private property allowing the construction and development to occur.  The search for suitable land and location in West Mansfield has continued for two years so the opening was a real celebration of the collaborative efforts of many people with the support of the Village Council, Bokescreek Township Trustees, Bokescreek Zoning Commission, Logan County Engineer, and the Logan County Commissioners.  The opening was punctuated with a two hour on-site broadcast by WPKO/WBLL radio and informational handouts to each family attending.
