New and improved Pay-As-You-Throw (PAYT) green trash bags are becoming available across Logan county. The new trash bags are equipped with the easy-to-use draw-string technology we’ve all come to know and love.
The trash bags are available at all 11 Recycling and PAYT Center vending machines and are becoming available as the old twist-tie bags run out at 17 locations including Walmart and the District offices at 1100 S. Detroit St. in Bellefontaine.
“Our customers spoke and we listened,” says District Coordinator Angel Payne, about the switch from twist-tie bags to draw-string bags.
The price will remain the same at $2.50 per bag and $12.50 for a roll of five bags.
Payne also explained the color of the bags is not quite the same as customers might be used to. There are some adjustments still being made in the production of the bags. “If it is stamped with our logo and purchased from one of our locations then it is OK to use,” she added.
The District also reminds everyone who uses the PAYT program, that the more they recycle, the more they can save on their trash bill. For recycling, remember to combine aluminum, glass, plastic and steel. Separate cardboard, boxes and other household paper and see how little trash is left. Here’s a comprehensive list of what you can and can’t recycle in Logan County.
